Coachella recently announced their 2013 lineup to the surprise of many of their younger fans. It’s an old-school list of headliners, that unless you’re a music junkie or a little older, you probably haven’t heard of.
Here is the 2013 Coachella Lineup:
What we think
Although many of you are wondering who the heck are Blur, The Stone Roses and Pheonix, I think your angst can be settled down by going a little more in depth in your lineup perusing. There a artists to meet everyone’s taste from indie to electro, rock to punk. There are past Coachella performers and some newbies. If you’re into the mainstream music you have the Red Hot Chilli Peppers headlining the Sundays, Modest Mouse, Of Monsters and Men. If you’re into rap, how can you not be excited by none other than the Wu-Tang Clan. Electro? You’ve got Major Lazer and Hardwell. Indie? How about the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Metric, Passion Pit, Sigur Ros, Portugal the Man, and the Lumineers? And those are just the obvious ones!
More to Discover
You’d be surprised with the number of bands that you actually know at Coachella just don’t recognize the name of. The best example is Blur. Everyone will recognize the catchy “Woohoo” in Song 2:
There is a variety of senior bands that have been on the music scene for years like Moby, Lou Reed, Benny Benassi and Phoenix that you’ll have to get to know better and discover. Combined with a ridiculous number of up and coming bands and some of the biggest names on tour today, this year’s Coachella will NOT disappoint.
Better than last year?
This year’s Coachella doesn’t have that HUGE surprise or big event that compares with the reunion of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. However, and this is a big however, this year’s lineup is stacked with bands that you won’t see anywhere else. It’ll be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Blur, Phoenix and the Stone Roses at the same festival not to mention at a concert in general.
