Vegas is known for the it’s gambling and it’s nightlife, but Las Vegas can also be super romantic and sometimes cheesy in the best of ways. It’s almost straight out of any romcom movie, but we wanted to bring you the typical Vegas romantic hotspots to impress your lover-lover.
1. Bellagio Fountains
They’re the centerpiece of any movie taking place in Vegas including one of my favorite: Oceans 11 (forget the sequels!). Facing the luxurious Bellagio hotel, these fountains have been mesmerizing tourists and lovers for years. It’s free to watch and can be seen from a number of places. Catch a late evening performance for a night sky, backlit, romantic water show. Read the rest of the article for my favorite romantic spot to watch the fountains from.
2. Piano Bar
Yes, there are a number of loud over the top clubs in Vegas full of singles just trying to get laid, but Vegas also features a number of piano bars. These piano bars offer a cozy atmosphere just right for a romantic drink with the sounds of jazz in the background. Many offer dueling piano performances where pianist/singers compete to impress the crowd. The performances are free to enjoy, but you will need to buy a drink.
3. Helicopter Tours
They’re definitely not cheap, but the Las Vegas skyline is incredible to see especially at night. There are many tours on offer that vary both in time and destination. You can visit the Las Vegas Strip or you can opt for a more nature centered tour and head over to Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon.
4. Gondola Ride at The Venetian
It’s tacky as can be but will swoon any lady, even if they say it’s too cheesy. It all depends on your approach. If you aim to make it the equivalent of a gondola ride in Venice, it’s bound to not live up to your expectation, but if you start it off as a fun way to visit the Venetian hotel in an unconventional way, it’s well worth it. Have a laugh as visitors wave from the balconies, or take photos of you along your journey. If you’re lucky, you may even get a gondola driver who can sing!
5. The light show on Fremont
It’s not the conventional romantic hotspot in Vegas, but everything is about the atmosphere. Step 1: pick up the massive tube drink things available almost everywhere in Vegas. Step 2: Get 2 straws. Step 3: Act like in the Lady and the Tramp and share the drink. Step 4: Enjoy the show. Simple as that! Did I mention the show is free?
Scale the Eiffel Tower
This is by far the lamest attraction in Vegas. You’re paying money to climb a small version of the Eiffel Tower and all your getting is a view of Vegas. Now, before you skip on to my other suggestions, give me a second to explain why it’s not a waste of money.
- At the center of the strip, you’ll see from end to end with 360 degree views
- It’s less busy than being on the strip at night. Yes, there are people, but there is limited space
- My favorite reason: It’s the best view of the Bellagio Fountains in my opinion
